Alec Baldwin impersonation of Trump fools Dominican newspaper: El Nacional mistakenly uses photo of comedian in blond wig with caption: ‘Donald Trump, president of the USA’

A daily paper in the Dominican Republic printed a photograph of Hollywood star Alec Baldwin playing President Donald Trump in an anecdote about the genuine US president.

The mess showed up in the Friday releases of El Nacional, The Day by day Dot reported.

The photograph indicating Baldwin as Trump was subtitled in Spanish: ‘Donald Trump, leader of the Unified States’.

El Nacional issued a statement of regret on its site Saturday for the photograph botch.

It said in Spanish: ‘On Friday El Nacional distributed a photograph of performing artist Alec Baldwin, who impersonates the Leader of the Unified States on a TV program.

‘The photo was sent that day by the Related Press (AP) with the name of the performing artist and data about the program, however it was put as though it were the one of Trump, a circumstance that went unnoticed for each one of the individuals who investigated page 19.

‘El Nacional apologizes to the perusers and to every one of the individuals who felt influenced by the distribution.

‘Performing artist Alec Baldwin impersonates President Trump on the week after week program Saturday Night Live on the National Telecom Organization (NBC), a standout amongst the most critical in the Unified States.’

Baldwin’s showed up in various scenes of Saturday Night Live’s flow season, playing the previous reality star-turned-government official.

He is set to have Saturday’s scene, which will be his seventeenth time facilitating the late-night drama portray program.

Trump has already censured Baldwin’s depiction of him.

In a December 4 tweet, he composed: ‘Simply took a stab at watching Saturday Night Live – unwatchable! Totally one-sided, not entertaining and the Baldwin pantomime can’t deteriorate. Tragic.’
